Uncertainty for Afghans who supported US after Taliban takeover

Thousands of Afghans who supported the US during its mission in Afghanistan face deep uncertainty since the Taliban’s return to power in 2021. Many are still awaiting resettlement, fearing retaliation for their past cooperation with Western forces. Bureaucratic delays and shifting immigration policies have left them in limbo, often in hiding or living under threat.
